We kicked off the second half of the masonic year with our newest candidate, Bro. Maurice Anthony, being initiated by RWM Bro. William Wiegratz and Brethren of Lodge Biggar Free Operatives No. 167. Also in attendance were members of both Lodge Mauldslie Castle No 1630 and the RWM and Brethren of Lodge St. Thomas No. 306 - both lodges will take Bro. Maurice on his next steps in the Craft.
We also completed the affiliation to our Lodge of Bro. Andy Gray. Andy's Mother Lodge is Lodge Kelso and Tweed No.58, so he will be splitting his time between both lodges.
Thanks to every single brother who supported the candidate, degree team, and Brethren of our wee ludje!

It was an absolute honour and privilege for our RWM to confer the Lanarkshire Upper-ward Reigning Masters’ MM Degree on Bro. Andrew McKinnley of Lodge St. Thomas No. 306.
Huge well done to the team of RWMs and PMs for adjusting to each other’s ritual to make the degree flow well.
Bro. Archibald McBain Galbraith PM 912, PM 1081, PPGM founded the degree in 1980, and after 44 years has handed over to Bro. Charlie Kearney PM 1630.
Thanks to Archie for his leadership, mentorship and council.

Thanks to RWM Bro. Danny W Mayberry and the Brethren of ‘St. Tam’s’ for their continuous support.
2 Apr 24
We were invited by RWM Bro. David White and the Brethren of the Lodge to attend and confer a degree of our choice, which we decided would be the Fellowcraft degree.
A really great night was had by all. It was great to be in the midst of our good friends at Douglas. Lodge St. Bride No. 118 was one of our sponsor lodges when we formed in 1901 and since then we have supported each other - this will continue for many years to come.
Our RWM received Honorary Membership of the Lodge, which is a huge privilege.
Here's to the future!
21 Mar 24
We had the honour to attend 1199's meeting, where we witnessed a fantastic Fellowcraft degree, conducted by RWM Bro. Tom Wilson PM and the Brethren of the Lodge.
It was the official annual visitation of PGL of Lanarkshire Upper-ward, headed by RWPGM Bro. Scott J MacLean.
The RWPGM and RWM presented two 50 year diplomas and jewels and a MMM diploma.
A fine night of masonry, including some ad-hoc harmony was the order of the day.
Another brilliant night at 1199.
19 Mar 24
A fair lot of us decided to go for a wee visit to our pals in Abington.
We wanted to return the support we get from one of our Honorary Members, RWM Bro. Malcolm Docherty, and the Brethren of Lodge Abington Arbory No. 1081.
RWM Malcolm lead a fine rendition of the 2nd or Fellowcraft degree, which was appreciated by the assembled Brethren, particularly the deputation from the PGL of Lanarkshire Upper-ward, headed by RWPGM Bro. Scott J MacLean, who were in attendance to conduct their official annual visitation.
It was nice to hear the Brethren getting acknowledgement for their labours over the last 12 months.
14 Mar 24
We welcomed our newest candidate into our Lodge and Freemasonry - Bro. Mark McKay. Mark’s uncle, Bro. Kenny Mckay (Lodge Barns o’Clyde No. 1018) had the pleasing duty of investing his nephew with the badge of an EA - a special touch. Mark’s 2nd or FC degree will be conferred by Lodge Wilsontown Ironworks Lodge St John. No 236 on Thursday 11th April (1930).
Mark was supported by so many of our friends from in and out of the province and members of the Widow’s Sons Scotland Motorbike Riders’ Association (Kenny is IP President of the West Chapter of WSS), and members of the King’s Own Scottish Borderers (Mark is the leading drummer in the KOSB Pipes and Drums).
We also enjoyed the annual visitation from PGL of Lanarkshire Upper-ward, headed by the RWPGM Bro. Scott J MacLean, who we gave Honorary Membership to. Bro. Scott is very deserving of HM for the support, advice and friendship he’s given to Hozier over many years. There’s a nice relationship between 912 and PGL, founded on mutual support, positivity and friendship.
The Brethren of Lodge Hozier Douglas Water No. 912 are hugely grateful for the support we receive from every last person, and do our very best to return it back.
Here’s to more of the same!
5 Mar 24
A group of our Brethren joined RWM Bro. Frank Robertson and the Brethren of Lodge Wilsontown Ironworks St. John No. 236 on their visit out with the province, to Lodge Clydesdale No. 551.
On the wall of their adjacent is a painting of Tam o’Shanter on his grey mare, Meg. Hidden in the painting are 20 Masonic symbols, of which we managed to find about 6-7. The excellent work was painted by Bro. Adam Browlie, 551’s Secretary.
Above is a less detailed version of the image (you’ll not find the symbols in these), which has been printed on a slate plate. Our RWM was gifted one of them by the artist, Bro. Adam, for our lodge.
Thanks to all at 551 for the top notch welcome and hospitality, RWM Frank for allowing us to join his deputation and to Adam for his kindness and generosity.
5 Mar 24
